Family Man

I am blessed to have the love and support of my family and friends as I go forward with this campaign to represent the good folks of the North Shore.  My wife, Liz, and I have been happily married for 11 years and we have two wonderful children.  Our children are active in soccer, baseball and other extracuricula tactivities.  We all enjoy our family days surfing together at the beach, hiking and saling.  My family helps keep me grounded in what is really important in life: doing what is right for today, while also working for a better future.

Community Leader

Over the past few years, I have consistently poured 20-30+ hours a week into community service, while still putting in full-time efforts for my family and business obligations.  I am President of Keep the North Shore Country,  I chair the Traffic & Transportation Committee and I represent Waialua on the North Shore Neighborhood Board.  I represent the North Shore Chamber of Commerce at Oahu Metropolitan Planning Organization in Honolulu.  I am very pleased about the turnaround and growth we have achieved with Waialua Little League since I was elected President in 2008.  I also lead Let's Surf Coalition, which advocates for balanced public access to our beaches and surf spots .  I have always been willing to put in whatever effort is needed to succeed.

Business Man

After a decade of experience as a mortgage solicitor for various lenders, I opened my mortgage brokerage, Town and Country Mortgage, LLC, in Waialua in 2001.   Subscribing to the highest ethical standards and training, I am a member of both the Hawaii and National Associations of Mortgage Brokers.  I am also active with the North Shore Chamber of Commerce.  As a small business owner, I have an intimate knowledge of the costs of doing business in Hawaii and I support lower taxes for residents and business.

Youth Coach and Sportsman

Thirty years after "retiring" from baseball, I recently started to play again, as well as coach my son's team.  The passion for the game has returned and it is with great pleasure that I serve on the Executive Board of Waialua Little League.  I got hooked on surfing about 35 years ago and I have had the opportunity to spend more than three years overseas in search of waves and cultural experiences.  Like many AYSO parents, I did not have a background in soccer, but I stepped up to coach the little ones for three seasons anyway.  Bodies in motion stay in motion.

Charity Volunteer

I have had the privilege of working for various charities and received a most special reward when I met my wife at a bachelor auction in 1996.  A certified bachelor, I was responsible for creating a desirable date package to benefit the Diabetes Association.  Little did I know that Liz would pay top dollar for my offering and that we would later marry.  Besides this momentous volunteer event, I helped coordinate a telephone bank for an Alzheimer Foundation fundraiser, I twice organized company participation in the March of Dimes and I manned a telephone bank for the Jerry Lewis telethon.  I signed up to be a Big Brother, too, but chose
instead to help a friend's son with social activities.  We should all give whenever and where ever we can.
