Who is
Gil Riviere?
Gil puts everything he's got into his work. He does not sit on the sidelines to watch how events unfold; he takes the lead when something needs to be done. With the support of his wife, Liz, and their two children, Gil devotes endless hours to our community. Now he is ready to take his high level of commitment and service to the next level, the Hawaii State Legislature.
What Has Gil Done?
-
KEEP THE NORTH SHORE COUNTRY - Gil has led the effort to require Turtle Bay Resort to update its 24 year old environmental statement. Four years of very hard work paid off this year when the Hawaii Supreme Court agreed with this organization.
-
WAIALUA LITTLE LEAGUE - Under Gil's leadership, the league rebounded from near collapse and is now thriving with 40% more children participating this year.
-
TRAFFIC SOLUTIONS - Gil has been a key leader in getting a traffic alternatives study in place to solve the Laniakea traffic jams. He represents the
North
Shore at traffic meetings in
Honolulu.
-
BEACH ACCESS - Gil formed Let's Surf Coalition to advocate for recreational surfers and protect public access to beaches and surf spots.
What Will Gil Do?
Gil will join forward looking leaders to create more quality job opportunities outside of tourism and development. He will actively support viable agriculture and promote renewable energy research and production.
Gil will be even more effective in pushing for traffic solutions and maintenance of our schools, roads, parks and harbors.
Gil will help overhaul the school system to provide a clear chain of command - and accountability - that does not presently exist.
Why Vote for Gil?
Gil's care and concern for the community shows in everything he does. He is friendly, energetic, realistic and fair; he is willing to consider ideas from all sides of an issue. His common sense approach to problem solving encourages confidence and enthusiasm in others. He follows through when he makes commitments. Gil gets it done!
